U3A Sea Swimming Group 2020 is BACK
This is the 4th year of sea swimming - well in all honesty it is just bay swimming! Sadly the schedule will only be for August this year - so 2 swims offered each week.
We meet at various bays and on different days and times in order to enable more members to join in and to enjoy our wonderful choice of bays at their best stages of tides.
It is all very relaxed - we swim across the bays for about 25 minutes or so - back and forth. Members can get out when they wish, swim for as long or as briefly as you want.
We usually get together at a kiosk for refreshments and a chat afterwards.
I am a Royal Life Saving Society qualified supervisor so will look after members as needed. I would like to know if members have any special medical needs that I should know about before entering the water.
It is important that all members have their " In case of emergency" ( ICE) contact number in their beach bag, either in an unlocked mobile or noted on paper.
To join these swims just turn up and join in, no need to book in. I will take a register before we swim!
All members who wish to join this group for 2020 must send an email to:-
firstname.lastname@example.org with your current U3A membership number.
