Pool Swimming

U3A Learn Laugh Live whilst swimming for your health 2019

There are now a few available places now in this group. However it is expected that you can attend
at least 5 of the 7 sessions – except in unforeseen circumstances.

7 sessions on Fridays 10.00 – 11.00a.m. October 18th, 25th, November 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th
At Les Beaucamps High School swimming pool.

There is no cost attached as we will be community use. For all swimming abilities – except speed swimmers!

The pool and changing rooms will be for the sole use of U3A. There are individual cubicles in both male and female changing rooms and showers etc.
The pool is 1m to 1.86m deep and 25m long.

Swim hats are optional though long hair should be tied back, all jewellery and piercings are asked to be removed (except wedding rings). Floats etc. are available for our use.

The sessions are more leisure swimming than speed training so there will be no lane ropes, though swimming lengths is possible! Unsure swimmers will be able to remain in their depth.

I will provide the safe supervision on poolside throughout our session; I am Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) and Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA) qualified for this Plus if anyone wants a bit of swim stroke teaching etc. I can provide that as wished.

The pool is part of the sports complex and is accessed by entering the school gates and following the road around to the right. The end parking bay on the right is best to use and the sports complex is opposite.
The swimming pool entrance is opposite accessed via a passage between the fenced all weather play area and the sports building. The changing rooms are on the right as you enter and the pool is then accessed directly form the changing rooms.

Please request a place giving:
• your current U3A membership number,
• an ICE (In Case of Emergency) telephone contact number,
• dates of sessions that you can attend
To Convenor: Sheena Melrose RLSS/ STA Swim Supervisor
