Walking
Welcome to the U3A Walking Group
Each month the Walking Group offers between 6 and 10 walks of varying degrees of difficulty, time and distance. A programme of walks is sent out to those on the walking data base during the last week of the previous month. This outlines all the walks on offer. Each walk will have a volunteer leader who will need to be contacted should you want to go on their walk.
Each walk is designated into Grades 1 - 4 ( click on Grading system for Walks for explanation). In addition to the normal Graded Walks we are now able to offer some Gentle Walks for those who might find the normal walks too hard. They will be a maximum of 45 minutes long and on reasonable level terrain.
It is important to contact the leaders should you wish to go on their walks so they have an idea of numbers. Leaders are asked to limit their walkers to a manageable level, usually about 15, so don't be disappointed if their quota is complete when you ring them. Please don't turn up without checking first.
Should you want to lead a walk please let the Convenors Dave or Jos Mortimer know. We are very keen to have new leaders to call on particularly for the new Gentle Walks. If you wish to receive the monthly programmes please use the pigeon on the top right of this page. You will need to include your name, email address and telephone number.
