The Miscellany Group was started in June 2015, in response to a request for more groups.
The intention was to cater for those members who may prefer a more eclectic style of learning, rather than focusing solely on a specific area of interest.
Learning activities can thus be undertaken in almost any format, and encompass topics of interest to members, as well as introducing new experiences and skills.
Underlying the group is the basic tenet that members should be active participants, so all members undertake to organise an activity for the group, either alone or with a friend.
In practice, this means that members probably only need to organise activities about once every two years.
In order to stay manageable, the group is now full, but members on the waiting list are offered the chance to join activities whenever there is space.
