CORONAVIRUS - MEETING CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
We have lost some of our older members but the group has taken in some new members to replace them. Our new venue is at the Baptist church opposite Gorleston Library. The new members have brought some brilliant music for us to listen to and the older members have upped their game and also brought some excellent music. There are play lists below on this page to support this statement. All went well until we were closed down by the coronavirus in March. We wait hopefully for an end to the virus so we can restart our group.
Regards to all - Bob Nicholls
Meetings will be at Gorleston Baptist Church on Lowestoft Road opposite the library on the second Thursday morning each month stating at 10.00 hrs.
There is ample space to invite new members to expand the group.
A £3 fee will be made per session to cover the cost of room hire.
The aim of the group is to promote enjoyment and appreciation of all styles of jazz within the jazz genre.
The group members are encouraged to bring along examples of jazz music from their own collections and to provide a personnel view on the music and the musicians involved where possible.
There are numerous jazz venues in Norfolk & Suffolk which some of the members of the group visit regularly offering lifts/car share. Future concerts events & gigs in the area are well publicized within the group to promote awareness of “live” jazz in the locality.
