CORONAVIRUS - MEETING CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
The Cycling group meets on the 1st Friday of the month starting at 10.30 am.
The rides have been designed to cater for all and are circular rides. We are including 2 start points for those who would like to ride a shorter distance.
The first two rides are scheduled and it could be that as the weather improves, we elect to ride not only on the 4th Friday of the month, as originally agreed, but also the 2nd Friday of the month. However at the moment we will meet on the 1st Friday.
We have not had time yet, but we will ride the routes in advance to check the timings of the 2nd meeting points and send you the info nearer the time.

The cycling group is a sociable, mixed ability group of men and women who are happy to travel at the pace of the slowest rider. We vary our rides and the mileage covered. For example, we may cycle along the sea front on the promenade and stop for a cup of tea or an ice cream and a chat or a typical ride will be cycling on quiet lanes an approx 3-6 miles. We sometimes stop and look in churches on route and take photographs along the way. Each member of the group takes it in turn to organise and lead a ride. The ride leaders are responsible for making sure that the pace of the ride accommodates everyone's needs and that members stay in the group and do not get left behind. The group decide the dates, timings and frequency of rides – often dependent upon weather conditions.
All rides are communicated by email or phone call. It is the responsibility of all riders to ensure that their bicycles are road worthy, maintained and safe. It is also the responsibility of all participants to ride in a safe manner with consideration for others in the group and other road users. If you share a love of cycling and the company of like-minded people then this is the group for you. Our routes usually accommodate a refreshment break at a cafe or public house and the only thing you need to have, besides your bicycle, is a good sense of humour.
All rides are designed to accommodate every level of fitness and experience.
The group travels at the speed of the slowest, less experienced riders and the group stays together for the duration of the ride ensuring that no-one is struggling to keep up and never will a rider be left behind. Our rides are leisurely rides, where we may decide to stop and visit a church, take photographs or sit and enjoy a view.
We are a relatively new group and the listing below shows our first rides programme.
NB. There may be some riders who would like longer day rides with higher mileages. If so, these could be organised as additional rides to those advertised below and could take place on a different day of the week. Also, over time, it may be possible to take advantage of the local trains and go a little further afield eg. Cycle around Whitlingham Park, Norwich or along The Marriots way in Norwich - both are easy, flat, off road cycle paths.
