LIP READING
Group Leader - Diana Green
Monday 2.00 pm Fortnightly
Venue - Group Leader’s Home
Are you hard of hearing?
Do you sometimes find it difficult to know what people say?
Would it help if you could lip read?
There is no hope of a Lip Reading Course in this area, as a consequence we have formed this self-help group in the U3A. David Stuart and Diana Green are both deaf. Diana has attended a lip reading class in the past and David has researched helpful information from the NET.
Lip reading is not easy but there are four of us persevering and definitely making progress. We would welcome more members so any one who is deaf may like to come and try us out. We meet every other Tuesday. It is a self-help group with some leadership. (There is not a qualified teacher.) We also discuss matters relevant to being deaf, the difficulties that can arise and how to deal with them We exchange ideas and often have a good laugh . Friendly and relaxed sessions.
It is always helpful to meet with people who share the same problems and to be able to share experiences from one another. It is with this in mind that we can help each other.
