Great Oakley & District

Craft/sewing

We meet alternate Monday mornings from 10 a.m. to 12 midday at Danesholme Community Centre. We currently have 21 members.
We do have room for more as not everyone comes regularly and the room is large.
We have a mix of abilities from beginners to expert and members can work on their own projects and often help each other when working on new items. Members often show the group new projects which members then go on to make themselves.
We have worked on various projects including lap quilts for a care home, Christmas items, various bags etc. We have made fidget aprons and muffs for dementia patients and "Dress a girl around the world". This involved making little dresses to send abroad

We have a Christmas Dinner together each year and have also been on a trip to a a patchwork shop where we had a workshop session.
