Group Leader: Colin Nice
The group meets on the 1st Monday in the month from 10am 12 noon in Gravesend, or any other agreed venue.
On alternate months we travel to a particular location to take photos. Venues are diverse and have included the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, Camden Market, St Pancras Station and Bluewater. We usually take photos for a couple of hours before having a nice pub lunch together.
Our other alternate meetings are in the home of one of our members. Following our photo day out, we edit our pictures and then select 25 or so to bring along to the home meeting to show on the TV. Though in reality there is inevitably an overlap in the photos we have taken, it is instructive to see the efforts of the others in our group.
At the previous home meeting we will also have been set the challenge to photograph and bring along a further twelve or so photos on a particular theme. Themes have included the colour red, shadows, people at work, night photography, drink and so on. These are also shown on the TV and again, the outcomes of our efforts are always diverse.
Group Leader: Ben Winder
We meet on 2nd Friday of month from 10am -12 noon at a Member’s house. Members bring a memory stick containing 12 photos on the theme set at previous meeting, plus a ‘picture of the month’. These are shown and discussed, sometimes with an online tutorial. There are occasional group outings.
The group aim is to enjoy and promote better understanding of photography, improving our technique in the process.
Any type of camera/mobile phone can be used.
