We are an existing group under a new name. We started off as Canasta players and we liked it and were quite happy with our Tuesday afternoon sessions which tended to be a mix of fairly serious card playing and just for good measure, socialising played its part too.
Then the name 'Bolivia' cropped up. No, we're happy the way we're playing - and all of us being of a certain age, where change doesn't come easily, we left it at that. A chat with Josephine, who at the time was convinced that we'd like to swap from Canasta to Bolivia, resulted in an evening's instruction and from then on, there was no turning the clock back. Together with my husband, we found two more willing apprentices and eventually the whole group couldn't but learn and get to grips with the new game and new rules.
At least 2 years down the road, nobody ever wants to play Canasta any longer - Bolivia is the new buzz word for our group. The game is more fun, more challenging, faster.... and, at times excruciatingly annoying!
We can't take any more members to join our group but if you'd like to come and learn and perhaps start a new group, you're very welcome.
Please contact the Groups Co-ordinator if you wish to do so.
