Grange & District

Environmental Awareness

Our group meets in the Grange Institute on the first Thursday of each month at 10.30 am. Over the last couple of years we’ve discussed a variety of environmental topics, including hydro power, fracking, energy saving in the home, biodiversity, plastics, vegetarianism, water resources, public transport and press coverage of environmental issues. We’ve also arranged visits to relevant local sites, including the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology at Lancaster, Shanks’ waste treatment plant at Barrow, and the community hydro power scheme at Halton-on-Lune.

If you want to know more, please contact John Eakins, either by email using the link on this page or phone (Tel 59365).
