French Conversation

French conversation is held in one room in small groups, as in a French café. We meet and chat, as though meeting for a coffee. There are topics you may use to talk about if you wish to “bone up” beforehand, but you may chat about whatever you wish. This is not a taught class. After the timer sounds you move around to chat to the next person.

There is a small charge for room hire at the Institute, £12 for the year, payable to the treasurer as French Conversation Room Hire.

If you can speak French, however hesitant or rusty or fluent you are, you will be welcome.

If you are interested in joining the group, please contact the Co-ordinator, Hilary Austin, using the message button on this page. Due to limited capacity it may be necessary to add new names to a waiting list.
