History
The History Interest group meets on the third Tuesday of the month, from 10.30am until about midday, in the Refectory at The Star and Eagle PH. Typically, we decide to focus upon a particular topic or historical period to study for the next few meetings, so that there is some continuity in the learning.
In 2018 we studied the lineage of British kings and queens, moving onto the British/French conflicts of the 18th and 19th centuries, and then the Russian Czars.
We are going to start 2019 with a look at the American War of Independence. To follow that we have flagged up the Anglo Saxons, and then maybe some Irish history.
New members are always welcome - no academic expertise is required, just a thirst for knowledge and a desire to share our interests with each other.
