Walking
Meeting each month with limited numbers to ensure social distancing and to comply with guidelines - walks approximately 5 miles ending with option for Pub lunch
The Walking Group will meet on the 4th Wednesday of every month and usually walks will be in the mornings. We will email/phone details of the next walk and also have details available at the monthly meetings.
It is anticipated that walks will be approximately 3 to 6 miles, be circular, ending at a pub or somewhere for refreshments. It is intended that the walks should be fairly easy, and we plan to give an Overview of each walk beforehand.
If there are enough members interested in longer walks, we could arrange a separate Group.
The U3A has a comprehensive insurance policy that covers all members for third party and public liability insurance. It does not cover for personal injury and you should make your own insurance arrangements for this.
You are responsible for your own personal safety on our rambles so please do ensure that you wear suitable and appropriate footwear, bring a waterproof jacket and always have water to drink. A small personal first aid kit can be useful.
It is regretted that dogs or children cannot be accommodated on our walks.
If the weather is forecasted to be severe we may cancel on the day of the walk. We will let people know by email or phone by 9.00am on the day.
We would welcome help in planning the walks, if anyone is interested in leading a walk, please let us know.
