Membership Fees and Gift Aid
The Committee has kept the fees at £28 for the 2024/2025 year, ie. the year beginning April 2024.
You can also Gift Aid your membership if you are eligible.

Membership details are held on Beacon, a secure database designed for use by u3a. Group leaders are able to access contact details for their group members.
Terms and Conditions of membership
All members must:
- Abide by the Principles of the u3a movement.
- Always act in the best interests of u3a Gosport and never do anything to bring the u3a into disrepute.
- Abide by the terms and conditions of the constitution.
- Treat fellow members with respect and courtesy at all times.
- Comply with and support the decisions of the elected committee.
- Advise the committee of any change in your personal details.
Volunteers
u3a Gosport (as with all u3a groups) relies on its members to volunteer to keep it strong and fun for all.
Committee
The committee will welcome any member who would like to see what is involved by attending a committee meeting and/or shadowing a role. Speak to a member of the Committee for further information. A Committee Nomination Form is available.
Groups
All members in our u3a can join any group – subject only to venue capacity. Members can also set up their own group – 2 people can make a group! Go to the Group page to find a full range of current interest groups. Click on a selected group for further information and to contact the ‘leader’. Contact the Group Leaders’ Co-ordinator (via the Contacts page) if you have an idea for a new group.
u3a Gosport News Update
A News Update is published each month and is emailed to members. These will keep you informed of current news and updates, including notices about group changes and important information arising from Committee activities.

General Meetings
General meetings are held monthly at which all members are invited to hear a speaker on a variety of topics and any u3a Gosport notices, prior them being published in the News Update.
There is a £1 charge per meeting towards the cost of the visiting Speakers. The meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of the month at Thorngate Hall.

Annual General Meeting
An annual general meeting is usually held in April of each year, but was out of sync following the closures during the pandemic.
The last AGM was on Wednesday 2 November 2022. At the general meeting held on 1 November 2023, it was agreed that the AGM would revert to its usual time in April 2024. The next AGM is on Friday 26 April 2024.

u3a National Newsletters
The Third Age Trust produces a monthly Newsletter. Archived Newsletters are available on their site and you can sign up to receive the Newletter on your inbox.
