French: Get by in French

The aim of the group is to communicate with one another in French’ however slowly, and helping one another as we go along.
To this end we use many tools: -
1 La petite histoire. Each member prepares a few words in French about something they have done or found interesting. This is read to the group for discussion.
2 Almanac. We have a page per day almanac of French regions and we translate the current day as a group.
3 Scrabble. We play scrabble in French
4 We have an assortment of French books and papers; adult, children’s, and parallel text that we read aloud and translate.
5 We play a French language CDs or france 24 news on the television during coffee break as background learning.
6 We also have a Berlitz French Language computer program if we want to test listening and pronunciation.
Level of Competence- You will need to have studied but not necessarily passed GCE O level or equivalent.
