Talking of Books

This Group meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at a lively get-together when one of the 15 members leads a discussion on a particular book. We choose our books at a Bring and Share Lunch in August each year, when each person brings a plate of food and 3 suggestions of what we should read next year which they present to the members, who then vote on which books they would like in our programme for the forthcoming year. We try to read a variety of books with some particularly interesting aspect - either the author or the background.

We have certainly succeeded in finding some interesting and thought provoking reading.

This Group has been operating for more than 12 years and is full at present.

As you can see, if the weather is fine, we meet in my garden rather than the house.

Joan Jones.

Use the Calendar to find out when this group meets, and any special events they may hold.
