Welcome to Glossop U3A

Glossop U3A was founded in 1994 by a handful of Glossop residents keen to follow the philosophy of the U3A and to encourage local residents entering “The Third Age” to participate and expand the various activities.

Now 25 years later we have over 360 members and 35 different group activities.

The Glossop U3A is centered around Bradbury House on Market Street, but many groups are also to be found within the Glossop area and include Members Houses for some activities.

A Coffee Morning is held at Bradbury House on the 1st Thursday of every month between 9.30am and 11.00am where general announcements are made and group leaders are encouraged to outline their groups future activities.

New members wishing to join the U3A will be made welcome at these Coffee Mornings where information regarding membership and activities wili be given.
Temporary membership is a maximum of 3 Months during which new members can sample up to 3 groups and become a regular attendee of at least 1 group, after which, attending the next coffee morning they will be enrolled as full members. A Membership application form can be downloaded from Application Form

This website includes lists of all groups, all trips and visits and all activities. Members can book any visit or event by phoning or e-mailing the organiser. All members should have appropriate details but if not, contact Pam Zuntz Group Coordinator.
The Thursday Meeting gives an opportunity for all members (after 11.00 am) to make inquiries and bookings.
