Like other U3As we organise our own programme of talks, study and interest groups, visits, travel and other activities. A new interest group starts when half a dozen or so members share a common interest and a volunteer is found to run the group. These groups are run by the members for the members. Their success depends on members' willingness to contribute. There is no guarantee that every demand can be met, but a glance at the Groups page on this Website will show that in the last fourteen years we have formed nearly 100 interest groups which cover a wide range of interests and activities.
To find out more about Orpington U3A, either contact our Membership Secretary or come to our next monthly General Meeting. Meetings are usually held on the 3rd Monday of the month from 2.30 to 4.30 p.m. at the Crofton Halls, Station Road, Orpington (see our Events page). Come and talk to some of our members, or just send us your completed membership form. Once you have joined you can pick a group that looks interesting and ring up the Group Leader to find out if they have vacancies. It's that easy!
If you have any particular skill or a flair for organisation, please tell us about it, we welcome all contributions and active support will be much appreciated. We want your experiences with Orpington U3A to be interesting, fulfilling and enjoyable.
