Dulwich & District U3A
The Dulwich & District u3a has around 90 Interest Groups. Our members comes mainly from Southwark, Lambeth and West Lewisham and we also welcome members from adjacent areas and beyond.
In ‘normal’ times meetings took place in members’ homes, community centres, and Rosebery Lodge in Dulwich Park. With the need for social distancing, most of our groups have adapted to using Zoom for their meetings with over 80% of groups using it. The benefits of using Zoom have meant that we can have more people than before in our group meetings as we don’t have to consider the size of the rooms. Our members can attend without worrying about parking, public transport, social distancing, or mobility problems.
Our monthly meetings with guest speakers have also been Zoomed and enabled our members to participate in interesting discussions ranging from environmental issues, the Battle of Britain, Herne Hill, and School Boards for London.
