Dulwich & District U3A
The Dulwich & District U3A group meetings take place in members’ homes, local halls and libraries around the Dulwich area. Our membership is predominantly from Southwark and Lambeth and we also welcome members from adjacent areas and beyond.
The Group has grown steadily since its inception four years ago. Members get together to share interests and knowledge covering languages, hobbies, computers, music, history etc. The outdoor Groups include walking, bike riding, tennis and gardening. There are also groups which visit museums, concerts theatres, cinemas and restaurants.
At our monthly open meetings we invite guest speakers who have talked on a variety of different topics, including, Magna Carta, meteorites, broadcasting, and obituaries. These also give an opportunity for members to meet each other and make friends over tea..
Occasional study days on a variety of topics are also arranged and we have links with Dulwich Picture Gallery, Dulwich Park and the Horniman Museum. We endeavour to keep our members informed of wider U3A opportunities such as Shared Learning Projects, research opportunities and Regional or National Summer schools. We have a monthly newsletter, website and Facebook presence.
The number of Interest Groups continues to grow with the help of our volunteer convenors. We hope to provide as wide a variety of interests as possible.
