Our next meeting is on Wednesday 11th March and we are making a change to the book list.
The original book chosen for March was 'Threads of Life' by Clare Hunter, which is being issued in paperback on 5th March. We are postponing reading this until April, to allow members time to buy the book in the cheaper format. The book focuses on the need people have to tell their stories, and how this can be done through sewing. Clare Hunter has worked with groups and textiles for many years, and her book covers events all across the world.
Instead we are going to read 'The Dry' by Jane Harper, which is a crime novel set in rural Australia. The book was mentioned at a recent meeting where the speaker discussed the art of abridging novels for radio.
The new list:
March - The Dry by Jane Harper
April - Threads of Life by Clare Hunter
May - The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton
June - Mr Mac and Me by Esther Freud
