GROUPS

Our u3a has several Interest Groups covering a variety of subjects. To join any of these groups you need to be a member of the Gainsborough u3a or part of our Neighbourhood u3a.To become a member, come to one of our 2nd Thursday meetings* and we will put you in touch with the Group Leader of the group/s in which you are interested.

The u3a system means that all the members in a group support one another and contribute to the running of their group, A Group Leader has responsibility for the overall organisation. Any member of the u3a is able to form an Interest group. Some Interest groups need special skills for example the leader of The Singing for Fun group has the musical ability to help us enjoy singing.
We do need people prepared to be Group Leaders as we are all getting older and need “ new, possibly younger, people to share the role.

If you are interested in an subject not covered by our u3a group, but held by one of our neighbourhood u3a’s, as long as they have space, you can join them without having to pay a full membership fee to that u3a as well.
