String Chickens
(Now Zooming Thursdays 2pm)
The group (formerly Strummers) started just over 2 years ago and we were almost all beginners at the time. Numbers are limited but we now have three vacancies.
(pre Coronavirus) - String Chickens meetings are once every two weeks, 1st and 3rd Thursday at members' houses, alternately Mary Mullin and Dawn Elsworth. The meetings are for one hour - 3.30pm to 4.30 pm. Both live in Ulverston and you can contact Mary Mullin or Dawn if you are interested.
Also, we have a ukulele FOR SALE – Octopus Soprano, with carrying case and clip-on chromatic tuner. £40. Contact Charlotte on 01229 586200.
You can email for more information.

Together with the Uke Troupe, the group gave their first public performance at Staveley House Care Home in Dalton, where they were very well received and invited back in the spring.
The two groups have created opportunities to play together on two occasions in a joint strum, which seems to work well, and we help each other out when more players are needed for a concert.
At Christmas time, the Uke Troupe usually play at St Mary's Hospice, and here is a picture showing everyone how much the two groups have raised for the Hospice through donations in 2018.
