Forfar & District

Welcome to the Forfar and District u3a

learn, laugh, live

Are you bored with retirement, tired of doing the same old thing day in and day out and feeling that there must be more exciting and enjoyable things to do? Perhaps you would like to meet new people? Develop new interests/hobbies or even improve those you already have. You can find what is available by taking the first step and joining the u3a (University of the Third Age) in Forfar. This is the time to have some fun and think of your own interests. Do come and try before you buy! You can come along to any of our interest groups once, with no charge, before you decide if you would like to join that group.

The u3a is a UK-wide movement which brings together people in their ‘third age,’ which is the time after you have finished working or raising your family and is purely for fun and pleasure. Our members are at the heart of the organisation where learners teach and teachers learn, learning is its own reward! You can also get involved and help organise activities for yourself and others if that is something you would like to do.

In Forfar we have a wide variety of groups for you to choose from and you can join as many as you wish. You can see all the groups by selecting ‘Groups’ at the top of the screen. By selecting any group you can see the current status and contact information of the Group Leader.

If you would like to join the Forfar and District u3a the subscription for 2022-2023 will be £15. Please contact George Henderson, Membership Secretary, via the ‘Contacts’ at the top of the screen or by phone on 01307 477881. If you prefer you can print out the Membership Form via ‘Links’ at the top of the page. Complete the form, send it to George with your cheque and please enclose a stamped self addressed envelope. This is for your membership card to be sent to you.

If you are a member of another branch of the u3a you can join us as an associate member, and the subscription for 2022-2023 will be £10. To join just follow the instructions above. Please let us know which branch you are a full member of. To join just follow the instructions above.

If this sounds like an organisation you might be interested in then you are welcome to come along to one of our monthly General Meetings which are currently being organised and details will be updated on this site as information becomes available.

If you have a hobby, skill or interest you would like to share with others we would be delighted to hear from you. You may even like to set up and/or lead a group. If you do please contact Kay Forsyth via the ‘Contacts’ at the top of the screen.
