Forfar & District

Hello and Welcome to the Forfar and District u3a

In view of the covid crisis, and in line with many other groups, Forfar u3a is currently reviewing arrangements for group meetings etc. Please bear with us and check the relevant Group's page for updated information. Thank you. (26th October 2021)

Are you bored with retirement, fed up with doing the same old things and feeling that there must be more exciting things to do ‘out there’? This is the time to have some fun and think of your own interests! Perhaps you would like to meet new people, develop new interests/hobbies, or even improve/explore the interests/hobbies you already have. You can find out what’s ‘out there’ for you by taking the first step and joining the U3A (University of the Third Age) in Forfar. Come and try before you buy! You can come along to any of our interest groups once with no charge before you decide if it is for you or not.

As a further introduction the u3a (The University of the Third Age) is a UK-wide movement which brings together people in their ‘third age’, which is the time after you have finished working full-time or raising your family and is purely for fun and pleasure (we have loads of laughs!) with no qualifications or degrees required! Our members are at the heart of the organisation where ‘learners teach and teachers learn’. Learning is its own reward! You can also get involved and help organize activities for yourself and others if that is something you would like to do.

In Forfar we are presently reviewing which Groups will be continuing to meet. You can see all the groups by pressing on the ‘Groups’ button. You can then see the current status of each by clicking on the relevant page. If you decide you would like to join then the subscription is £10 for the 2021-2022 session. Please get in touch with George Henderson, our Membership Secretary, through the ‘Contacts’ button or phone him on 01307 477881. You can print out the Membership Form via the link and send it to George with your cheque, if you prefer.

If this sounds like an organisation you might be interested in joining then you are very welcome to come along to one of our monthly General Meetings which are also currently under review. Information will be updated on this site as it becomes available.

If you have a hobby, skill etc you would like to share with others then we would be delighted if you would come forward with ideas to set up and/or lead a group. Please contact Sheila Cumming via the Contact tab.
