Craft: Share and Learn
This group is looking for new members, so if you are interested please contact the Group Coordinator via the Contacts link
The craft group usually meets on the first Monday of the month in the homes of group members. Most of the crafts we have tried have a minimal cost, but when equipment is needed the expense is shared. We have visited Art and Craft shops together and various exhibition and galleries on the Hampshire Art Trail to trigger inspiration. None of us are experts but we have fun learning together and are sometimes inspired to continue with a subject after the sessions.
We draw on the skills of the group members and take it in turns to lead sessions. We have also `had a go’ at various crafts that are new to us all. It is a friendly group who enjoy a chat and a cuppa while working. We have tried:- fabric and transfer painting, sugar craft flowers and cake decorations, modelling and jewellery making using polymer clay, card making, knitting, decoupage, silk painting and origami, Somerset patchwork, Encaustic wax pictures, photo boxes Pergamano, glass painting.
Meetings are on the 1st Monday afternoon and we rotate where we meet depending upon the space and activity.
