Creative Writing Group
THE CREATIVE WRITING GROUP grew from four members enrolling at the first meeting four years ago, to twelve.
We used to meet on the second and fourth Monday each month and follow roughly the same pattern. A theme was agreed at one meeting and read out and discussed at the next. This has produced a wide variety of writing from short stories to poems and articles and resulted in the publication of two anthologies (there are still a few copies of the 2014 book for sale at £2.50).
Recently we have written CINQUAIN VERSE = Five lines – 1st with 2 syllables; 2nd with 4 syllables; 3rd with 6; 4th with 8, and 5th with 2 syllables.
Also, a ‘story’ using only 1, 2 or 3 letter words. Here are ones written by group members.

‘Put my hat on? No, I will not. My hat is an old one and a bad fit’.
‘Say yes, Mum. A hat is for a ‘do’ and you and I are to go to the pub to say
Bye to Bob. He will be sad if you are not at his tea. He is to fly at two and we may not see him for an age’.
‘O.K. For Bob I will do it. He is my son’.
The Group had been in abeyance for 2 years but ,in October 2019, THE GROUP HAS NOW RESTARTED UNDER TONY DAWSON.
