Provides leadership for Falkirk and District U3A
Ensure smooth operation of Falkirk and District U3A
Chair monthly Trustee meetings
Chair AGM
Ensure members are kept informed
Support the Secretary in the preparation of Agenda and minutes for Committee and General Meetings
Contribute to monthly newsletter
Succession planning

Preparing and distributing minutes of committee meetings
Assisting Chairman to prepare meeting agendas
Send meeting invitations and related paperwork to Trustees
To ensure the maintenance of important records
To be the primary link to the National Office
Counter signatory to bank payments

Maintaining the financial records in accordance with the financial policies
Maintaining the financial records in accordance with the applicable charity law and statute
Managing the bank accounts in accordance with the financial policies
Preparation of accounts and budgets for committee members and meetings
Preparation of the annual accounts for the AGM, publication and filing
Ensuring that an Asset Register is maintained.

Membership Secretary
Maintain an up-to-date record of members.
Review and update information on application form for membership.
Register new members, both in writing & digitally.
Liaise with & pass any monies received to the treasurer.
Prepare and keep a current database of all paid up members.
Ensure that members personal data is secure in line with GDPR
Keep a record of all members throughout a period of 7 years.
Send member information for quarterly ‘Third Age Matters’ magazines for members.
Submit appropriate data, when necessary, to the Third Age Trust for Direct mailings
