Officer Roles

Chairperson
Provide leadership for Falkirk and District u3a.
Ensure the smooth operation of Falkirk and District u3a.
Chair monthly Trustee meetings.
Chair AGM.
Ensure members are kept informed of latest u3a developments.
Support the Secretary in the preparation of agendas and minutes for Committee and General Meetings.
Contribute to monthly newsletter.
Lead on succession planning.

Vice Chair
Deputise for the chair in their absence.
Assist and liaise with the chair when necessary.

Secretary
Prepare and distribute minutes of committee meetings.
Assist Chair to prepare meeting agendas.
Send meeting invitations and related paperwork to Trustees.
Ensure the maintenance of important records.
Act as the primary link to the National u3a office.
Act as counter signatory on bank payments.

Treasurer
Maintain financial records in accordance with the financial policies.
Maintain financial records in accordance with the applicable charity laws and statutes.
Manage the bank account in accordance with relevant financial policies.
Prepare accounts and budgets for Trustee committee members and meetings.
Prepare the annual accounts for the AGM, publication and filing.
Ensure that an Asset Register is maintained.
Act as point of contact for HMRC.
Act as point of contact for OSCR.
