Making Music, Having Fun
- to establish a (smallish) group of musicians who could work amicably together with a view to improving their instrumental playing abilities, also, their confidence in playing and making music along with other musicians.
- to meet on a regular basis, say once a fortnight; venue TBA
- to (collectively) agree an (eclectic) range of music to explore and play e.g. jazz, folk, rock, pop, ballads etc.;
- to practice and then play these together;
An important subsidiary objective would be to explore the music together to improve as a player.
Instruments: ANY INSTRUMENT WELCOME! Guitars, ukulele, recorders, brass, woodwind, keyboards, whatever you play, we will find a place in the group for you.
Repertoire: Anything we can play, or would like to be able to play.
Ethos/Standard: The group will be welcoming and open to any players - beginner, starter, improver, intermediate? It doesn’t matter. The only way to learn how to play in a group is….to play in a group! The group ethos is based on helping everyone learn.
NB There will be some (limited) help available on technique, reading music, and basic music theory, if required and appropriate.
The ultimate aim and objective is to meet, make some music, and have fun doing so.
