To all members of my group:
I hope you and yours are keeping well in Evesham? Our flight home has already been cancelled, but we intend staying here for much longer now, as there is no virus on our island and tourists are not allowed, especially from the UK apparently, so we feel safer here anyway and we have lots to do and not many people around us. Plus of course all activities in the UK have been cancelled for months anyway!
Look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best wishes and stay healthy
Ours is a mixed ability group and we are learning together from scratch. We try to have fun with our learning and don't always follow the same course. Sometimes we listen to CD's, sometimes we read from the book and sometimes our members make up sentences and phrases to learn.
We are using a number of resources, but mainly these two;
- The book Teach Yourself Modern Greek, by Aristarhos Matsukas, first published in 1997 in the UK by Hodder & Stoughton Ltd.
- The CD course Michel Thomas basic, which has 8 CD's.
We have fun with this!
Some of us have a book called Build Your Greek Vocabulary, by Hara Garoufalia-Middle and Howard Middle, but we haven't referred to it much yet!
Our group is full at the moment, but we do have a waiting list and are happy to encourage new members to add to it, so that a new group could be started when there are enough. So if you are interested in learning some Greek that you can use on your holidays, please get in touch with us for a chat.
You can send a message by email to Mike Fraser or click on the pigeon, usually on the top-right corner of the page, but sometimes it flies elsewhere.
