Science Talks is a study group run by Roding Valley U3A which EFU3A members are permitted to attend. It is held monthly on Tuesdays afternoons (3pm-4pm) in Theydon Bois Village Hall. The group convenor is Janet Whitehouse.

Facing the World by Jo Livingstone of Bexley U3A. It explains the neurological condition prosopagnosia. This is an inability to recognise familiar faces which causes many problem, and sometimes amusement, in daily life. The main object of this talk is to raise awareness of the condition which affects about two per cent of the population.

DNA and You by Mark Carroll of Epping Forest U3A. Most of us are familiar wit the iconic double helix structure of DNA. But what has been the research that has underpinned our explanations of human genetics and diseases such as inborn errors of metabolism. The talk features some key workers in the field of human genetics and addresses some controversies and ethical issues.
