The Photography Group, led by Jeff Thatcher, is one of the most long established groups in our U3A.
From September through to May we meet on the first and third Mondays of the month in the Community Centre, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Here we regularly look at pictures that we have taken for the monthly assignments and consider how the images might have been improved, with Jeff's guidance, sometimes using Photoshop Elements or Faststone for this. We also have talks and presentations on photographic topics, either in-house, or given by a visiting speaker. For the summer months we try to meet in a photogenic location, and in 2020 had a sociable lunch at one of the local sailing clubs. We hope to have assembled an interesting collection of images on various projects, for our return to inside meetings in the autumn.
One important commitment in our calendar is the annual Emsworth Arts Trail, where we have held an exhibition for many years. This would have been the case for 2020 too, had Covid-19 not intervened ... Instead we have been preparing our show online in lockdown, with a smaller number of images than usual, but we hope that you will enjoy it nonetheless. The Exhibition starts in the column on the right hand side of this page, then continues below this text. When you enlarge the images, depending on the device you are using, you may find that you need to scroll down to see the whole picture. This was not intentional, but has the advantage that - if you so wish - you can examine them in great detail!
As you will see from the information on the last slide, we would be delighted to have any feedback! ** 2020 EXHIBITION
