The Photography Group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Indoor meetings are held at Witcham Village Hall, The Village Green, Witcham, CB6 2LB from 2.00-4.00pm. There is a charge of £2 per head to cover hire of the hall and refreshments. Outdoor meetings 'in the field' are arranged at a suitable local venue appropriate to the subject and season. See the diary below for details.
A varied programme is organised by our planning team, including talks by visiting specialist speakers, practical workshops, field trips, and of course showing the results of our work for peer review and friendly judging by group members. The emphasis is on shared learning to create satisfying pictures, not winning points in arthouse competitions. Examples of group members' work can be seen here on Flickr. For more information on the group please contact the secretary via the pigeon post link at the top right of this page, or the ‘Contact’ item in the menu bar above.
For 2024 the themed projects have an outdoors theme:
Jan - March | Rural Buildings
Apr - June | Nature in East Anglia
July - Sept | Farm Machinery
Oct - Dec | Unusual Buildings |
These projects will be judged by members or visiting speakers at the March, June, September and December group meetings.
This Ely and District U3A website is always looking out for good eyecatching pictures with a local connection to appear on the front (home) page. A thumbnail of this picture appears in the index of U3A published sites so it is important that the picture attracts interest. The format is 4:3 landscape, and since it will be reduced to about 640x480 pixels, high definition is not required. If you can offer a suitable picture contact the photo group's website page editor.
