Joining by Post

If you have Microsoft Word, you can download a Membership Application Form in Word format (by clicking Application-Form-July-2020-Word). Alternatively you can download a Membership Application Form in PDF format by clicking Application-Form-July-2020-PDF.

If you do not have a printer, you can request a printed Application Form by e-mail addressed to membership@elmbridgeu3a.org. Please include your postal address and your phone number._ Alternatively call the membership secretary, Tony Wharton, on: 0208 979 2737.

The current subscription fee options are set out below:

  • If joining between July 1st and December 31st 2020, £15 per person. This covers the period up to December 31st 2021.
  • If joining between January 1st and June 30th 2021, £10 per person. This covers the period up to December 31st 2021.

Please note that Joint Members, defined as two persons residing at the same address and sharing a single Application form, will receive only one copy of each edition of the Elmbridge U3A Newsletter and of the U3A's national Third Age Matters magazine.

Gift Aid

Gift Aiding your subscriptions is entirely optional but, if you can do it and wish to do it then at no cost to you, as a registered charity, Elmbridge U3A can claim 25p in the £1 from the Inland Revenue in respect of your subscriptions (i.e £2.50 for an individual or £5 for joint members) provided you pay an amount of income tax or capital gains tax in the tax year (6th April to 5th April) equal to the tax that we reclaim. If you pay at least this amount of tax in any tax year and are willing to allow us to claim Gift Aid on your subscriptions, please confirm this by signing the Gift Aid Declaration on the form. Please note that a single payment covering both Joint Members can be Gift Aided for the full amount.

When you have completed the form, please send it, with your payment, to the address shown on the form.

The General Data Protection Regulation 2018

Elmbridge U3A membership records (i.e. names, addresses, phone numbers etc.) are held both manually and on computer. This information is only available to Committee members and used solely for U3A business/communication and will not be divulged to third parties other than for ‘Third Age Matters’ distribution. Our Privacy and Data Protection Policies are attached to the Reports & Policies subpage of the Members page of this web site.
