December Newsletter to Members 2020
Due to the continuing Covid 19 Precautions it is unlikely that future Members Meetings will be held until much later this year. Your Committee decided last year to hold the AGM by Postal and Email vote. Minutes of the 2020 AGM are available via the link above. It is hoped that this year we might return to something nearer normal for the '21 AGM.
Outdoor activities are now allowed so the Walking Group has resumed and Golf intend to arrange a meet after Easter. French, French Grammar, Ukulele, and Jigsaw Groups were all meeting face-to-face under strict Covid regulations. Unfortunately as of the latest 'lockdown' even those are on hold or using Zoom. French Grammar, Italian, Poetry, more recently Books are using Zoom. In fact, about 98 members, (60%) now have access to active Groups, although not every member of a Group is taking part yet, for various reasons. The Town Hall Supper room, has proved an ideal space for indoor group meetings; plenty of room for social distancing, it was successful for a while and might well be again. Line Dancing were also using the Town Hall Supper Room as there is plenty of space and windows for ventilation. This could prove the way forward for other groups in the future. Unfortunately, with Moray going into Tier 4, then the whole Country in 'Lockdown' the Town Hall like every other venue is now 'out of bounds'. Hopefully this is only a temporary situation.
Jigsaw Group has come up with a novel idea. Judy the Group Leader says, "Jigsaw Group is running a delivery service until Members’ Meetings are back to normal – all carefully sanitised, of course. Hopefully I’ll get the jigsaw list up to date soon and attach that. I was given 16 just before lockdown and have done 12 of them". Well done Judy a strenuous but rewarding task for a group leader.
