The following groups have been temporarily or permanently discontinued:

  • Recorder (Continuers) was discontinued October 2021.
  • Walks (Easy Strolls) was discontinued October 2021.
  • Crochet and Other Crafts was discontinued September 2021.
  • Enriched Retirement was discontinued September 2021.
  • Cryptic Crosswords was discontinued September 2021.
  • Art Appreciation 2 was discontinued September 2021.
  • Poetry Around the World 2 was discontinued September 2021.
  • Lunch Club was discontinued September 2021.
  • Tennis 3 was removed from the Proposed Groups listing in Aug 2021.
  • Yoga (Gentle) 1A, Yoga (Gentle) 1B and Yoga (Gentle) 1C were all discontinued in Aug 2021.
  • Play Reading 1 was discontinued in July 2021.
  • Music Appreciation 1 was discontinued in Jul 2021 when the group leader retired.
  • Archaeology was discontinued in Jun 2021 but is continuing under u3a Online Across Scotland.
  • Divine Feminine was removed from the Proposed Groups listing in Apr 2021 at the request of the proposed GL.

  • Computing Group was discontinued in Nov 2019 due to lack of support.
  • Bridge @ Palmerston was discontinued in Oct 2019 due to the retirement of its leader.
  • Recorder (beginners) was discontinued in Oct 2019 due to lack of members.
  • Knit and Natter was discontinued in Oct 2019 due to lack of members.
  • Mindfulness Meditation 4 was discontinued in Sep 2019.
  • German Conversation 1 was discontinued in Sep 2019.
  • English Literature was discontinued in Sep 2019.
  • Wellbeing and Lifestyle was discontinued in Sep 2019.
  • Music Appreciation 8 (Rock/Blues/Folk/Pop) was suspended in Sep 2019 pending appointment of a new leader.
  • Recorde (Ensemble) was discontinued in Aug 2019.
  • Musical Theatre Appreciation was discontinued in Aug 2019.
  • Explore ther Museum 1 and Explore the Museum 2 were discontinued in July 2019 because the leader has other commitments.
  • Fife Pilgrim Way was discontinued in July 2019.
  • Bridge (just play 3) was discontinued in July 2019.
  • Yoga 3 was discontinued at the end of June 2019.
  • Socrates Café was discontinued at the request of the Group Leader in Jun 2019.
  • Positive Psychology 1 was discontinued in June 2019.
  • Walks (Short-Strollers) was discontinued prior to May 2019.
  • Thinkers 2 is no longer meeting. May 2019.
  • Music Appreciation 4 (Jazz) - this group has been renamed Jazz Appreciation. It meets on the 2nd Wednesday at 10:30 in Morningside; contact Tony Reeves.
  • Art and Architecture 3 this group is no longer meeting as from May 2019.
  • Speed Walking or Jogging closed in May 2019 at request of leader. The members have transferred to David Syme’s group which will now be called Jogging. It meets weekly on Friday 14:00 - 15:00; location varies. A group run at a gentle pace is followed by a coffee stop.
  • Ukulele for Beginners discontinued May 2019 at request of leader.
  • Garden Group 2 discontinued March 2019 due to lack of leader.
  • Ballroom Dancing - discontinued Feb 2019 due to lack of support.
  • Craft 1 - discontinued Feb 2019 due to lack of leader.
  • Digital Social Media - discontinued January 2019 due to leader leaving u3a.
  • Archery - discontinued January 2019 due to lack of members.
  • Drawing in the Museum - discontinued December 2018 due to lack of members.
  • Creative Writing 4 - discontinued December 2018 due to lack of members.
  • Laughter Club - suspended November 2018 pending a new leader coming forward.
  • Orienteering - discontinued October 2018 due to lack of interest.
  • Salsa - discontinued September 2018.
  • Business and Economics - Disbanded Sept 2018 due to lack of interest.
  • Countdown - discontinued August 2018.
  • Accordion Playing - became inactive in Aug 2018 at the Group Leader's request.
  • Drawing in the Museum 1 - deleted Aug 2018 at the Group Leader's request.
  • Drawing in the Museum 2 - deleted Aug 2018 at the Group Leader's request.
  • French Chanson - deleted Aug 2018.
  • Walks (Moderate) 2 - discontinued Jun 2018 due to leader's health issues.

  • Film Appreciation 4 (Subtitles) - discontinued Jan 2018; deleted from website Feb 2018.

  • Dressmaking withdrawn from Proposed listing Mar 2019 due to lack of interest.
  • Animated Film Making - removed Oct 2018 on GC's advice. Literature in Translation - removed Oct 2018 on GC's advice.
