This group will meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 12.15pm so the meal can start at 12.30pm, with a maximum of 12 people and at places which are easily accessible by public transport. The venue depends on which restaurant has been selected for that month.

The Small Group Lunch was started by Ellen Bonner, a founder member of Eastbourne & Wealden U3A, several years ago. She wanted to create a smaller lunch group where it was easier to get to know all the other members and was easier to speak to and hear other members because there were fewer competing conversations. We still follow Ellen's guidelines and try to be an informal and intimate group and we have a maximum membership of twelve people.

We eat at a different restaurant each month and aim to select a restaurant close to public transport. All members are encouraged to suggest a venue for any of our monthly meals.

Members are expected to take a turn in organising a lunch.
