SUSSEX U3A NETWORK (SUN) NEWS
Since the AGM in July, I have attended a SUN meeting with several Representatives present. The 40 U3As cover all of Sussex and the meetings are held in Hassocks, West Sussex. The next meeting is on Friday 15th December, so, unfortunately, I shall not be attending our monthly meeting on the same day.
Do have a look at the SUN link on this website for the next Study Days or your yellow card.
Change of talk on 12th May: ART IN BRITAIN IN THE AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT - 18th Century, Tutor Kay Blackburn, venue Pulborough Village Hall.
I shall put out hard copies of the application forms at the monthly meetings or you can print your own. Please also have a look at the remainder of the pages on SUN’s main website https://u3asites.org.uk/sussexu3anetwork/home, which give much information about the SUN network, events, etc.
For the purposes of this SUN page, I should like to highlight below a few items which might be of interest to some of you.
Sussex Myths and Spirits
This is a SUN Shared Learning Project for SUN U3As, to be undertaken by various interest groups during 2018, culminating in a large, celebratory event in Brighton in mid 2019.
Heroes and Heroines.
In addition to exploring the national stories of liberty, protest and rights, this SLP is working with Royal Holloway College on Citizens 800 years in the Making.
One of our Meads U3A members, Sandra Lawrence, is currently a member of the second SLP and recently attended a meeting in Pevensey on this subject.
If you or your Group, or an independent group of members, are interested in this, please contact Sandra via the Links page/Sussex U3A Network/Shared Learning Projects. Click on Sandra at the bottom of the page whereby a message email box will be displayed.

Hilvary Robinson, SE Regional Trustee, retired in August and Bob Duckmanton, of Warsash U3A, has now taking up her role. Please read his profile on https://u3asites.org.uk/south-east/welcome . It makes interesting reading!
