Introduction to Barbara Cordina your Trustee for East of England
Welcome to our East of England Region website.
I have recently taken over the role of Trustee for East of England from Jeff Carter, and look
forward immensely to keeping you informed of developments within the u3a movement and offering
assistance when needed.
I have been a u3a member for 12 years, for most of which I was a committee member in my
local u3a covering various roles, including chairman for five years and
ultimately president. I recently resigned from my position as chair for the Herts
Network, I am a Trust Volunteer and have been a member of working groups with
the Third Age Trust.
Now is my opportunity to take a step further. As your Trustee for East of England I am also a
member of the Board of the Third Age Trust and see this as a means of representing you all.
My aim is to champion the members of the u3a, to ensure they are kept informed of all the
excellent opportunities available to them, and to encourage collaboration across the region.
I have set up a Regional Support Team (click this link to see members The Team) who will
cover this large area with me.
We have 140 u3a's within our region, the second largest in the UK, and I plan to raise our
