Family History Intermediate 2
Meetings usually take place on the 3rd Tuesday of each month except in August from 10am – 12 noon at a private house in East Grinstead.
Our group has had a very successful first year and we are all looking forward to furthering our family history research in the coming year.
This friendly intermediate level group aims to assist its members to continue with their family trees and to discover who their ancestors were and what they did in their lives. We help and encourage each other, discussing resources used and the results obtained.
Each month we look at a pre-arranged topic. Members carry out their own research and at the meetings they share their information and experiences. Recent topics covered have been life in the workhouse, occupations of our ancestors, looking at and learning about old photographs, family heirlooms and what we can learn from them, record keeping and parish registers.
In the new year starting in September we hope to organize group visits to the National Archives in Kew (TNA) and to one of the local Record Offices.
The group has one or two spaces at present. Please send us an e-mail if you are interested in joining this group.
