ACTION FOR DEAFNESS COFFEE MORNING
(Not running during the pandemic)
Action for Deafness (AFD) has recently launched a Coffee Morning at the Lodge Coffee Shop at Chequer Mead Theatre in East Grinstead, every first Thursday of the month, 11am – 1:30pm. These Coffee Mornings are open to everyone no matter what their hearing loss might be and present an opportunity to socialise in a relaxed environment. For further information, contact: email@example.com or call 01444 415582.
OUR MACULAR SUPPORT GROUP
(Not running during the pandemic)
East Grinstead Macular Support Group runs monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of the month. Our meetings, outings and friendships are a lifeline for people with macular, a medical eye condition that reduces central vision in the elderly, and can lead to feelings of uncertainty and isolation.
We have various speakers who talk on a wide range of topics, some informative, some entertaining. We occasionally have musicians who play for us. Transport can be arranged when needed, and that all-important cup of tea is provided. This is a chance for members to relax, meet and socialise and is all made possible by our merry band of volunteers. New members are always welcome. The Committee arranges 'Days Out' to appropriate venues throughout the year, for which transport is provided. Familiar, caring volunteers accompany the group. 'Days Out' include train excursions, river trips, visits to the seaside and shopping outings, to name just a few. Our established, efficient Committee is in need of volunteers as our Leader/Secretary is retiring. If you could help this worthwhile organisation, please contact us via email envelope above or visit East Grinstead Library for contact details. East Grinstead Nacular Support Group is part of the Macular Society, a registered charity.
