Ealing

World religions

The World Religions group meets on the first Tuesday of each month, 1 to 3 p.m. at 8 The Firs, W5. [It is on the E2 bus route and there is parking]

Our members come at present from four different major religions, some being active in their faiths, others nominal or lapsed. We do not set a subject timetable far in advance rather we tend to choose our next topic in the preceding month's meeting.

Recent topics have included: Voodoo, Martin Luther and Antisemitism, the State of Israel since 1947, the History of Religion in Ireland, Faith Schools, Mission Schools,Trinity, Secularism, Spirituality, China and Japan, Sikhism, Quakers, Islam and democracy, male headship, contradictions in the Bible, Christian Denominations, Judaism.

Often one group member volunteers to give a presentation on the chosen subject.

Planned meetings
September 4 - Religious persecution
October 2 - Euthanasia
November 6 - Conversion therapy and LGBT
December 4 - Numerology - Kaballa
2019
January 8 - Usury and banking

Apologies for absence to Graham please.
