Ealing

World religions

World Religions meets on the first Tuesday of each month, 1 to 3 p.m. at The Firs, Ealing W5. [E2 bus route, parking available]

Our members come at present from four different major religions, some being active in their faiths, others nominal or lapsed. We do not set a subject timetable far in advance rather we tend to choose our next topic in the preceding month's meeting.

Often one group member volunteers to give a presentation on the chosen subject.

Recent topics have included: Voodoo, Martin Luther and Antisemitism, the State of Israel since 1947, the History of Religion in Ireland, Faith Schools, Mission Schools, Trinity, Secularism, Spirituality, China and Japan, Sikhism, Quakers, Islam and Democracy, Male Headship, Contradictions in the Bible, Christian Denominations, Judaism, Religious Persecution.

Planned meetings:
November 6 - Conversion therapy and LGBT
December 4 - Numerology - Kaballa

2019
January 8 - Usury and banking
February 5 - Hinduism
March 5 - Religious customs in faith-naming ceremonies
April 2 - Ethiopia

Apologies for absence to Graham please.

Convener: Graham J Weeks - phone 020 8575 5694 or 07804 226963, or email through the blue bird above.
