Durham

Join Us!

We would love to welcome you to join us at Durham u3a. Like other u3a organisations all over the UK we are independent but affiliated to the Third Age Trust. We are a registered charity in our own right and are managed by an elected committee. Our ethos is that we are run by and for our members and we invite all our members to share what skills they have. For instance, all our interest groups are run by the membership and we have room for plenty more groups.

The u3a is designed for more mature people no longer in full time employment. You will meet like-minded souls and you don't need to be an IT expert, but during lockdown many of our members found themselves using Zoom for the first time in order to keep in touch - sometimes much to their own surprise.

Our logo tells you that we offer Learning, Living and Laughing. We deliver this through our programme of monthly lectures and our wide range of interest groups. Whether your interest is in practising your French, enjoying a good murder mystery or just going out for a pub lunch, there is something for you. You will make new friends and be able to share your own skills and ideas. The last couple of years have left many people feeling isolated and lonely. Now that things are beginning to open up, we want to our bit to help in combatting loneliness and so we offer a warm welcome to one and all.

No need to make up your mind immediately. Why not try a taster session with groups that pique your interest?

When you feel ready, the application form can be downloaded via the link. If you are able to sign the Gift Aid section, that would really help us.
