Our general meetings are usually held once a month at Dunston Hill Methodist Church (corner of Ellison Road and Shrewsbury Road) on the first Wednesday of each month at 2pm. At the meetings we have a speaker followed by an update on activities and a chat over a cup of tea and a biscuit.
We re-started our regular general meetings in September. In order to achieve that, and in everyone’s interests, we have to ask that members attending wear a face covering inside the building and maintain a one metre social distance. Speakers have been arranged right thorough until the end of 2022. Details of future meetings and speakers can be found by clicking on the link "Speakers 2021/22" on the right of this notice.
The Committee have agreed that for the current financial year (2021/2022) we will not be asking members to pay any further subscription beyond the £3.70 previously requested. We will, however, be requesting an entry fee of £2 at the door and there will be a raffle at £1 per strip of tickets, proceeds going to the general funds to cover the rent of the hall and speakers’ fees. With Covid19 still uppermost in our minds we would ask that those cash payments be made by tendering the exact amount so as to minimise cash handling. Similarly, catering will continue, but using disposables and pre-wrapped biscuits.
