Painting in the afternoon
Aims and Objectives of the group:
To encourage members to paint. For beginners this entails the basics – colour mixing, composition, perspective. We learn from each other.
For more experienced painters the meeting provides an uninterrupted 3 hours to paint, improve and learn from the leader and other group members.
Any expertise needed: None needed.
Equipment needed (rough costs if any):
Members purchase their own equipment.
Maximum number permitted in the group:
Between 16 and 20 (the lower number is when there are a high proportion of beginners.
Location, day and time of meetings:
Edward St. United Reformed Church Hall, Wednesdays weekly 1:30pm to 4:00pm, (see attached sheet paragraph 2).
A brief description of a typical meeting:
First week of each term I set a project. Once the group is working the leader circulates to give help and advice if needed.
Occasionally work is displayed to compare how members have tackled the subject. From time to time there are various demonstrations from visiting demonstrators.
