RISK ASSESSMENT DUNMOW U3A CYCLING GROUP
Cycling can never be free of risk and all members are expected to agree to the following requirements and sign the form below.
Risk Assessment.
All cyclists will wear cycle helmets
The front and rear cyclists will have reflective clothing, and all cyclists will be asked to wear reflective clothing.
The leader will carry a mobile phone to use in case of emergency
The route will have been pre-ridden by the leader to check for distance and potential hazards.
Cyclists will travel in single file on main roads and never more than 2 abreast except on dedicated cycle roads.
Cyclists will communicate to one another about cars coming and potential hazards, such as potholes.
All rides will take place during daytime to avoid hazards of darkness.
Cyclists will be advised to carry water
Group members who have personal health problems that could affect their cycling should make the group leader aware of this and carry any medication that might be required
I accept these conditions and agree that my choice to cycle with the group is at my own risk.

In addition, planned cycle rides will be cancelled in hazardous conditions such as thick fog, icy roads or strong winds.
