History

Tuesday 26th March the history group will be travelling back to Saffron Walden this time to visit the museum where they have an exhibition called 'Living with History' It is advertised as:

Using archaeological material and maps this exhibition will look at the very different origins of Uttlesford's four main towns, Saffron Walden, Thaxted, Great Dunmow and Standsted Mountfitchet. It will also explore the origins and development of local settlements, which ere once major centres, but now are more rural such as Great Chesterford, Newport, Clavering and Hatfield Broad Oak.
