Can’t tell your f-stop from your bokeh? Need to check your depth of field before snapping that portrait? Well, you won’t be alone at the Dunmow U3A Photography group. We are made up of just about every level of “expertise”, but we are also, all of one mind…. Which is to enjoy our hobby, to mutually help and inspire each other, to get just a little bit more from our cameras, and most importantly, to have some fun at the same time!
Photography can be a complex subject but we are very much a self-help group that is focused on sharing knowledge. Our current members have varying levels of experience, from Smartphones to DLSRs. We set ourselves a topic for the following month and present the results at the next meeting. We also have discussions on various aspects of photography.
We hold our meetings at The Community Hub opposite Foakes Hall on the third Tuesday of every month from 2.30 to 4.30pm until September. From October onwards it will be from 2pm to 4pm. A small charge is made for hire of the Hub.
New members are always welcome, especially complete beginners who wish to make a start on this interesting and inspiring hobby.
Each month our meetings have a project set where members bring digital photographs relevant to the topic. We also have teach-ins by a member on some aspect of photography of interest to the group.
