-----The cycling group meets twice a month for about two hours of reasonably easy cycling, between 10-20 miles, and avoiding main roads as much as possible. Expect a few 'undulations', unavoidable in this part of the world. Over the course of the year, we cover most of the area around Dunmow. Usually, we meet at Dunmow Tesco or the Library so that there is parking for those bringing bikes on the car to the start point. Occasionally we meet outside of Dunmow, e.g. Takeley, Hatfield Broad Oak and Stebbing, so that we can ride a bit further out.
Please wear cycle helmets and high visibility clothing and bring along a drink. We try to have a coffee shop break if possible.
We welcome new members.
Members of the group have agreed not to cycle if it is pouring with rain, very windy or the roads are icy or flooded. We do not ride in January or February. After all, we hope to enjoy ourselves! The group leader will email all members a day or two before the ride to confirm whether or not the weather is OK and where to meet.
