Art Appreciation
The Art Appreciation group meets monthly on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 10.00 – 12.00 at Belmont Community Centre. We currently have over 20 members and typically about 12 attend each month. Admission is now £3 per attended session, which should remain at this amount as long as we get enough attendees to cover the rent. We look at a wide range of artists and art movements from all periods of history and from across the world. Members are encouraged to suggest ideas for the following year’s programme and are welcome to contribute to (and even co-ordinate) sessions if they wish. We frequently have an open session where members are encouraged to share a few minutes on a picture/work/artist that fits the given category. We don't currently organise visits to exhibitions, although information on what is on locally is frequently sent to members, and members are welcome to organise trips if they wish.
