Class location: Finmill Community Centre
One-off course on Monday 9th September, 2 - 4.30pm.
Statistically anyone who suffers a heart attack outside the hospital environment has a very low chance of survival. The idea behind Heartstart is to train members of the public in the skills required to buy important survival time for the casualty until the ambulance and paramedics arrive.
The course includes –
• The treatment of breathing and non-breathing casualties.
• The recognition of the symptoms of a heart attack
• dealing with choking casualties
• dealing with severe bleeding
Classes can take up to 9 members. If there are greater numbers I am happy to run extra courses either at Finmill or at any of the Community Centres to meet the demand.
So far there have been 3 courses with 12 U3A members completing the course.
Please contact Neil for further details.
